Plagiarism Policy
Jurnal Suaka Insan Mengabdi (JSIM) is committed to upholding the highest standards of academic integrity and has a zero-tolerance policy towards plagiarism. All manuscripts submitted must be the original work of the author(s) and be entirely free from plagiarism.
Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI): The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools, particularly generative AI (such as ChatGPT, Bard, etc.), for assistance in manuscript preparation (e.g., language improvement, idea generation) is permissible. However, the following conditions apply:
- Accountability: Authors are fully responsible for the accuracy, integrity, and originality of all content presented in their manuscript, including any text, data, or figures generated or assisted by AI. Authors must critically review and edit AI-generated content to ensure it meets rigorous academic standards.
- Disclosure: The Methods or Acknowledgments section must disclose the use of generative AI tools for substantial contribution to the manuscript's content (beyond basic grammar or spell-checking). This disclosure should specify the tool used and the manner of its application.
- Authorship: AI tools cannot be listed as authors or co-authors. Authorship is reserved for individuals who meet the criteria for substantial intellectual contribution and accountability for the work.
- Originality: Content generated or assisted by AI must still adhere to the journal's plagiarism standards. Authors must ensure that AI-generated text does not reproduce existing work without proper citation and passes the required similarity checks.
Authors submitting manuscripts to JSIM are strongly encouraged to conduct a similarity check using plagiarism detection software before submission to ensure the originality of their work, including any AI-assisted portions.
The editorial team rigorously screens all submitted manuscripts for plagiarism using the iThenticate software. The bibliography/reference list section is excluded from the similarity calculation during this assessment.
The maximum permissible similarity index reported by iThenticate is 15%. Manuscripts exceeding this threshold will generally be returned to the author(s) with a request for revision to address the identified similarities. However, depending on the severity and nature of the overlap detected or failure to adhere to the AI disclosure policy, manuscripts may be rejected outright at the editorial board's discretion.
