Author Guidelines
These guidelines outline the requirements for preparing manuscripts for submission to the Jurnal Suaka Insan Mengabdi (JSIM). Authors must read and adhere to these instructions closely to facilitate a smooth editorial and review process. Manuscripts should be submitted as Microsoft Word (.docx) files.
General Formatting and Language
The main body of the manuscript, including the primary section headings (PENDAHULUAN, METODE PELAKSANAAN, HASIL DAN PEMBAHASAN, KESIMPULAN), must be written in proper Bahasa Indonesia. General text throughout these sections should use a Times New Roman 12pt font with 1.15 line spacing.
Title, Author Information, and Affiliations
Begin your manuscript with the article title written in Bahasa Indonesia, formatted in Times New Roman 14pt, bold, centered, single-spaced, and not exceeding 16 words. Immediately following this, provide the English translation of the title, formatted in Times New Roman 12pt, italic, centered, single-spaced, and not exceeding 16 words. List the full names of all authors below the titles, using Times New Roman 10pt, bold, and single spacing; use superscript numbers to link each author to their affiliation. Subsequently, list the corresponding affiliations, including department, faculty, institution, city, and country, formatted in Times New Roman 8pt and single spacing.
Abstracts, Keywords, and Article Information
The manuscript must include two abstracts. First, present the English abstract under "ABSTRACT" (TNR, 10pt, Bold, Uppercase). This abstract must be a single paragraph, written in Times New Roman 9pt, italic, justified, single-spaced, and no more than 200 words. It should concisely state the problem, the purpose of the activity/service, the methods used, the principal findings, and the main conclusions without using citations or acronyms. Second, provide the Bahasa Indonesia abstract under the heading "ABSTRAK" (TNR, 10pt, Bold, Uppercase), following the same formatting rules (TNR 9pt, italic, justified, single-spaced, single paragraph, max 200 words). This abstract should cover the background/problem, activity purpose, implementation method, results, and conclusion without citations or acronyms. Below the abstracts, list 3-5 relevant keywords. The template also includes an 'Article Info' box area (detailing article history and corresponding author information) and the CC BY 4.0 license statement, which will be managed editorially but should be maintained in the template structure.
Main Body Sections
The main body of the manuscript follows a standard structure with specific content requirements for each section. Section headings (PENDAHULUAN, METODE PELAKSANAAN, HASIL DAN PEMBAHASAN, KESIMPULAN) must be formatted in Times New Roman, 12pt, bold, and uppercase.
PENDAHULUAN (Introduction)
The Introduction section, written in Times New Roman 12pt with 1.15 spacing, must establish the context for the work. It should comprehensively describe the background, focusing on the condition of the partner or target group, including relevant health-related regional issues or potential, supported by data. Include a profile of the target group and clearly analyze their specific problems, substantiating claims with findings (e.g., pre-test results, health data). This analysis and the justification for addressing the priority health problem should be supported by relevant theories (from books) and findings from previous research (journal articles). Clearly articulate the proposed solution offered to the partner/group and state the specific, measurable objectives of the activity.
METODE PELAKSANAAN (Implementation Method)
This section (TNR 12pt, 1.15 spacing) details the methodology employed to achieve the stated objectives. Describe the specific methods applied during the community service or activity implementation. Justify the choice of these methods, potentially referencing theoretical underpinnings or previous studies. Outline the distinct stages involved in the execution of the activity.
HASIL DAN PEMBAHASAN (Results and Discussion)
This section (TNR 12pt, 1.15 spacing) first presents the results obtained from the activity. This can include quantitative data (e.g., from questionnaires), qualitative data (e.g., observations), or descriptions of changes observed in the target group. Results may be presented using text, tables, diagrams, charts, or photographs. Following the presentation of results, provide a thorough discussion. Analyze the findings in the context of addressing the identified problems, relating them back to relevant theories or previous research documented in academic literature. Critically discuss the extent to which the activity's objectives were met based on the presented results.
KESIMPULAN (Conclusion)
The Conclusion section (TNR 12pt, 1.15 spacing) should offer a concise summary of the activity and its key outcomes, directly reflecting the achievement of the objectives stated in the introduction. Additionally, this section should provide practical suggestions or recommendations for the future sustainability of the program or related future actions.
Acknowledgment (Optional)
If applicable, an Acknowledgment section may be included after the Conclusion. Here, authors should recognize any significant contributions from individuals or organizations not listed as authors, such as funding agencies, institutions providing facilities, or individuals offering specific support during the activity or manuscript preparation. Clearly state who provided support and the nature of their contribution.
Daftar Pustaka (References)
The final section is the reference list, headed "Daftar Pustaka" (Times New Roman, 12pt, Bold, Capitalize Each Word). The reference list should be formatted using Times New Roman 11pt font with 1.15 line spacing. All references must adhere to the APA (American Psychological Association) Style, 6th Edition. Every source cited within the manuscript text must appear in the reference list. Conversely, every entry in the reference list must correspond to a citation in the text. To ensure accuracy and adherence to the APA 6th edition format, reference management software (such as Mendeley, Zotero, or the built-in tool in Microsoft Word) is mandatory.
